Noise Level Meter uses the Web Audio API to read your microphone stream and analyze the audio signal in real time. It calculates the root-mean-square (RMS) amplitude from audio samples, converts that into an estimated decibel value, and updates a live gauge, peak reading, and short history chart. Because microphones differ by device and environment, the reading is an approximation rather than a calibrated SPL measurement. No audio is recorded or stored during the analysis.
